Project "Rural school lamp"
The goal is to develop independent leadership of teachers by creating professional teaching associations to improve the quality of education in rural schools. The project's implementers are the UNESCO Regional Office in Almaty, the TeachersLab platform, the Kazakh National Women's teacher training University and the hertscam international network. The project is implemented with the financial support of the National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO of Kazakhstan.
This practice is successfully implemented in a number of countries of the world through the initiatives of teachers themselves and directly corresponds to the goals of the educational concept of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026.

- This project provides for the creation of professional circles of teachers in rural schools in order to identify certain problems, discuss them together at school and find solutions together, using their professional and personal strength of facilitators and teachers selected in schools.
- Within the framework of the pilot project, 11 schools from Almaty region, Atyrau region and Mangistau regions are participating.
- The main principle of this project is to give free rein to the work of teachers and to develop teacher leadership independent of the position in working together with colleagues.
- Expected results:
- This initiative provides an opportunity to increase the professional growth of teachers in a short time and create a professional teaching community of teachers on the ground
- In the long term and if the project is successfully implemented, the initiative will have a positive impact on the quality of Education
